DESCRIPTION:A special program of dulcimer music will be provided by the North Mississippi Dulcimer Association from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm\, at the Parkway Visitor Center located at milepost 266 near Tupelo\, Mississippi. \nThe North Mississippi Dulcimer Association teaches dulcimer history\, tradition\, craftsmanship\, and music by sharing its knowledge and talents. The Appalachian mountain dulcimer is the first instrument developed in the United States. Dating back to the early 1800s\, the dulcimer is an instrument whose very name means “sweet sound.” The National Park Service and the North Mississippi Dulcimer Association invite everyone to listen to the soft sweet sounds of the dulcimer and learn about its extensive history.

She plans to have a variety of reptiles for the children to view\, including a terrestrial turtle\, several aquatic turtles and a small alligator.  Debora will speak with the children about the various reptiles that live in our area and educate them about what to do when you see these reptiles out in the areas where you live. \nAll ages are welcome to participate in both the reading challenge and the schedule events.  For those who are not ready to read\, we also have activities that can be completed that encourage imagination and listening skills.

DESCRIPTION:We invite the community to our Kitten Yoga classes held every Monday evening from 6:00-7:00 P.M.  \nClasses are $10 per person and will be taught by professional yoga instructors in an environment filled with kitten happiness!  \nEach Participant must:\n•	Bring their own mat or blanket.\n•	Sign the waiver form for each session. Children under the age of 18 must have their parent sign the waiver for each session.\n•	Be at least 16 years of age. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. No child under the age of 10 will be allowed to participate in yoga.\n•	Be respectful of other yoga participants and not play music or otherwise disturb the class with disruptive behavior or language.\n•	Be respectful of the animals. The Six Shooter Studios film duo\, Amye Gousset and Clark Richey\, have created a raw\, uncensored look at just what Death Stalkers found in Tupelo’s Link Centre.  Join both the production and investigation crews at the world premiere screening of the 45 minute film.  There will be a Q & A session and a reception following the screening. \nA short film (from an award-winning screenplay by director Mary Moore) entitled “Over Your Shoulder” will accompany the feature film\, courtesy of Morgan Cutturini and ICC Films. \nJoin us at The Claude Gentry Theatre Saturday\, July 27th\, at 7 pm for this unique event! DESCRIPTION:Cruisin’ Amory is back for it’s 4th year and the anticipation is already building!! This event was a hit from the moment it was conceived\, and has continued to grow in popularity every single year! It’s become a staple in Amory\, Mississippi and has turned into a super fun night for the whole family.  \nAll you need do is to show up in town the night of July 27th and then cruise the loop with us! No need to have a classic car (although all are welcome). Just shine up what ya got and come on out!! Meet up with old friends and make new ones.  \nIn addition to cruisin’ the loop\, several venues around town will have live entertainment! These include: the Pig parking lot\, The Pocket Park\, and Frisco Park. Also\, lots of business and restaurants downtown will be open late for shopping and dining. Including\, of course\, Bill’s Hamburgers. Plus\, many of the restaurants around town will be catering to cruisers. A great night to spend in downtown Amory. \nAnd if this wasn’t enough\, we are bringing back the CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT! This thing was a total success last year\, and it is expected to be even better this year! DESCRIPTION:The Tombigbee Pioneer Group will demonstrate pioneer era crafts and skills at the Parkway Visitor Center\, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. The demonstrations will show the challenges faced and creative solutions developed by those Americans who lived in the area from the 1700s to around 1840. \n The public is invited to participate in pioneer lifestyle activities that often include crafting baskets\, spinning\, weaving\, leather working\, making corn-husk dolls\, and other traditional craft demonstrations. Mountain dulcimer demonstrations are usually offered throughout the day. Children are invited to dress up in pioneer clothes and participate in craft activities. \n This program is free to the public. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, July 27th from 10AM-2PM for an art demo with Paul Fayard! \nPaul Fayard is a Mississippi based artist and art educator. Originally from New Orleans\, Paul studied at New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts\, University of New Orleans and Mississippi College where he received his Master of Fine Arts degree. For many years he was a counselor in the mental health industry where his personal contact with people of all ages\, from all backgrounds and in all walks of life afforded him a unique vantage point from which to pursue his art. Although he is comfortable working in oil\, acrylic and watercolor with all subject matter\, drawing is his first love and portraiture his favorite subject. \nPaul’s love of music and the unique character of the Crescent City inspire much of his work. His real subject matter\, whether creating portraits\, landscapes or still-life is light and what it reveals. Paul has received numerous scholarships and awards and his work is included in many corporate and private collections including Mississippi Chemical\, Regions Bank and the Mississippi Department of Transportation. His work has been featured at the Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans\, LA\, the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson\, MS\, Lauren Rogers Museum of Art in Laurel\, MS\, and the Alexandria Museum of Art in Alexandria\, LA\, among others. \nShop his work here!

DESCRIPTION:JEWELS Mentoring\, LLC will be hosting a Youth Making Difference Day July 27th at Ballard Park in Tupelo\, MS  \nThe purpose of the event is to give back to the community and encourage our youth to make positive life choices!  \nPlans are for the event to be free of charge to all participants. We are hoping to give out hot dogs\, hamburgers\, etc along with free school supplies. I’m also looking for 12 vendors (local business owners) who are willing to set up tables to promote their business and give away free supplies to the youth. I understand some may want to sell some items but I would like for you to have some supplies to give away for promotion purposes of your business but most importantly give back to the community. \nWe will also have a motivational talk from Marcus Gladney of Pittsboro\, Ms. He will speak to the youth concerning the importance of making positive choices and education.  \nEvent will start at 10am until \nVendors are asked to be there to set up by 8am. JEWELS Mentoring wants to set a goal of serving 100 youth on that day.  \nWe are seeking donations to assist with the event.
