United Way Day of Action is an opportunity for volunteers\, donors and advocates who seek to change lives and communities to be part of the solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives. \nIn Northeast Mississippi\, we are participating by creating Literacy Kits to benefit the pre-K classrooms in daycares in our region. In the days leading up to June 21\, you can donate supplies or money to provide the items for the kits. Then on June 21\, we will have a volunteer day to package the kits for delivery to pre-K classrooms before the start of the new school year!

DESCRIPTION:We’re back at it! Every Wednesday night in June we’ll be spinning records for Happy Hour starting at 6:30 at the new Saint Leo Lounge…just down the street from Saint Leo.  \nEach week we’ll be selecting an array of records to play that’ll focus on one particular genre\, style\, or artist. Starting on May 8th we’ll be celebrating Jazz Fest and spinning all New Orleans records. All vinyl.  \nThe bar will serve cocktails and food specials that coincide with the records.  \nThe idea is to give folks a chill place to get a drink and hear some records they may not hear elsewhere. We’re going to mix it up each week so it’ll always be different…same goes for the cocktails and food.

DESCRIPTION:I will present a 5- day hands-on porcelain workshop in my own studio.\nThe evening prior to the workshop\, we will have a get-to-know-each other and a slideshow at around 6pm.  \nThis promise to be a jam-packed workshop in which attendees will get opportunities to throw thin porcelain\, or/and hand-build thin translucent porcelain objects. We will push the limits with porcelain and crush all myths  surrounding the clay medium.  \nI will provide bisque bowls on which attendees can practice spray glazing techniques.  \nDetails about how to get here \,where to stay\, and where to eat will soon become available on my website.\nAny questions?
