Personal trainer and fitness experts Devonte Senter\, Snap Fitness and Adam Holt\, ELEV8 Fitness\, Vence McNairy\, PEDAL LIFE TUPELO\, youth sports leagues Lee County Bears Youth Football & Cheer\, Memphis Thunder Basketball and Real Men Stand Up will all share insight. Dr. Dantwan Smith and Bridgette Hereford Allen\, BSN will be health care providers. We will also do wellness checks of blood pressure and blood sugar onsite. Tupelo Police and Fire Departments will be there as well! This is a FREE event! \nJune is the time to celebrate the men in our lives. During June we want to draw attention to the preventable health problems men face and encourage action – behavior changes\, early detection and screening\, and treatment. \nThe men in our lives play many roles. They are fathers\, brothers\, neighbors\, coworkers\, teammates\, coaches\, mentors\, and the list goes on and on. They often take responsibilities within each of these roles very seriously. However\, we need to encourage them to take their own health seriously too. Their health must be a priority. \nMoms\, bring the kids and the dads for a day of family fun!

A native of Roanoke Virginia\, Hastings is no stranger to traditional folk Americana\, having grown up listening to cowboy country icons like Townes Van Zandt and Emmylou Harris.\nAt 18 years old Hastings made a move to the Big Easy that not only placed her in the line of sight of immensely talented artists but also defined her Appalachian- folk-meets-New Orleans sound. \nIn her early years of living in New Orleans\, Hastings met and\ncollaborated with drummer Isaac Worley and developed a sound that captured the lyrical integrity and honesty of traditional folk music\, while exceeding the expectations of listeners with the addition of a trumpet player that conveys the New Orleans feel of a booming brass section. Overtime the cast of characters has undergone many changes and features a roster of multifaceted musicians who can switch instruments on a dime. Currently\, the cast is comprised of Anne Elise (vocals and rhythm guitar)\, Isaac Worley (drums and spoons)\, George Thomas (percussion\, trumpet\, harmonica and guitar –sometimes)\, Mickey Hayes (guitar) and Tristan Clark (bass). The respective styles of each member have culminated in the perfect marriage of nostalgic folk and the soulful bustle of New Orleans. \nHaving shared the stage with a variety of well-known acts including The Lone Bellow\, Sam Lewis\, Jared & the Mill\, and Andrew Pope\, Anne Elise Hastings and her Revolving Cast of Characters is making a name for themselves in a city that is vastly saturated with rich talent\, culture and creativity. They can be found gigging multiple times a month and are working on an upcoming two-week tour in Spring 2019 as well as a second EP that will be released in the next year.

SUMMARY:There's a Monster in My Closet!
DESCRIPTION:Fantasy and reality collide in this eclectic and fun musical romp!  Emily’s having a sleepover with her best friend Stephanie when they discover there’s a monster in her closet!  To investigate further (despite the incessant teasing of her big brother and his friends)\, Emily and Stephanie recruit their friends — sarcastic and skeptical Kelly\, vain Mary\, studious Brain\, tomboy Tara and avid reader Megan — to help capture the monster.  What they don’t know is that Murray\, the closet monster\, doesn’t mean any harm.  He only wants to play Emily’s new video game.  He’s more scared of kids than they are of him!  Murray is on probation since his boss\, the Dream King\, heard about his goofing off on the job.  After all\, every monster knows that when a child is born\, a monster is assigned to watch over her — not play with her things!  What happens when Emily has all her friends over for a slumber party to try to capture Murray?  They end up catching the Dream King and his harried secretary\, Toady\, instead!  With other wonderfully entertaining characters like Sandy the Sandman and his dream weavers\, find out how friendship\, ingenuity and a sprinkling of magic lead to a delightful solution to Emily’s monster problem. \nTickets are $10!

SUMMARY:Pappi’s Garage May 2019 Cruise-in
DESCRIPTION:Cruise-in season started off with a bang! Not only did we manage to raise over $2800 for the Regional Rehab Center\, but there were close to 200 classic cars and hot rods in attendance. I don’t know about you\, but I’m excited to see what the next cruise-in is going to bring! \nFriday\, May 31st from 6:00pm to 9:00pm\, Pappi’s Garage\, located @ 209 Commerce St. in beautiful historic downtown Tupelo\, Mississippi\, will be hosting its monthly cruise-in! \nRegistration is $20 for each registered vehicle\, and there will be a minimum of $1\,000 cash prizes for registered classic cars and hot rods! \nThe main driving motivator to hosting these monthly cruise-in’s is to help raise awareness and contributions for local charities – all while enjoying great company\, fellowship\, and great cars! This month\, Pappi’s Garage has chosen the Tupelo-Lee Humane Society as its benefit charity \nIf you are not already aware of the wonderful work these guys do\, below is a little information. Please help spread the word and make sure to come out and spend the evening Friday\, May 31st helping benefit this great charity.  \nAbout Us \nThe Tupelo-Lee Humane Society (TLHS) was founded in December 1979 to bring more attention to companion animal overpopulation and to replace the local “pound” with a true animal shelter. Both goals were accomplished. \nTLHS is a privately run non-profit organization (501(c)3)\, but we do currently contract with and receive funding from the City of Tupelo and with Lee County.  However\, TLHS primarily relies on funding from donations and fundraisers to help house\, feed\, and care for the 6\,000 animals per year who enter the shelter.
