2019 Autism Run “Autism Is My Super Power”

April is National Autism Awareness Month. Help us promote autism awareness and acceptance by joining us April 27th for a Saturday morning 5K Run/Walk at Ballard Park. Proceeds from this event will go us at the Autism Center of North Mississippi (ACNM), a local 501(c)3 providing affordable Applied Behavior Analysis therapy to children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
This year we are introducing a new fundraising feature to our 5k… TEAMS!! We have set a fundraising goal of $10,000 and by creating or joining teams you are able to help us reach that goal! When registering for the race online, there is an option to donate, join a team, or create a new team. Teams can be set up on honor of individuals, families, business, organizations, or groups. Each team will be able to track their progress towards the goal by selecting the fundraising option on the racesonline.com page. There will be an incentive for the team that raises the most money!
The 5K Run/Walk will start at 8:00 AM. You can sign up online at https://racesonline.com/events/the-autism-run-and-walk , or you can sign up in person at ACNM. Early entry fee is $20, but goes up to $25 on April 18th. Anyone who wants to help support our cause but has other plans that day can have their t-shirt mailed for an additional $5.
If your entire family wants to participate, there is a $60 family maximum. All members must live at the same address and sign up at the same time before April 6th. You will have to come by the center and sign up in person to get this option.Please be sure to register each participant so everyone can get a race package including t-shirt. Race participants that have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder can register for FREE if they register at ACNM (bring copy of diagnosis).
Race day registration will be start at 7:00 AM, but the entry fee increases to $30. To guarantee your t-shirt size, please sign-up by April 6th.
All registered runners will get an Autism 5K t-shirt and participate for awards. Age groups for male and female participants will be 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+.
Our theme is “Autism Is My Super Power”, so come participate in a superhero costume! Let’s show our support for the many families in our surrounding area living with autism.
