Where's The Rundown? We are putting The Rundown on hold for a couple of weeks as we look at a better way of presenting the information that is not a giant wall of text. As always, we will try to share as much as we can, and you can follow events on Ourtupelo.com/events as well as our Facebook Page. Got a suggestion on a new format? You guys are who we want to hear from! Send us a DM and we'll brainstorm.
Here’s a chance to share your memories of moon landings, shuttle disasters, and anything related to the final frontier. Please share this article far and wide, we would love to get a huge collection of stories.

We are less than a month (July 20th) from the 50th Anniversary of the landing of Apollo 11 landing on the moon and the statement “One small step..” by the first human to stand on a celestial body.
The moon is a first step to the stars, so they say
While many of us were not alive at the time, those were count it as one of the “big moments” in history. Those you remember where you were and who you were with as you watched that small step. Those of us too young to witness the event have heard the stories from their parents and grand parents.
That was the first of many firsts for our space program. Apollo 13 the televised near loss of a space crew, the launch of the first space shuttle, the explosion of the Challenger, the debut of the Hubble Space Telescope and later fitting of its corrective lens.
Space is the final frontier, and like all frontiers, we have a love and fascination with the stories and memories of it. And this is where we come in.
Things are looking up…way way up.
I’d like to invite everyone to share their stories of the moon landing, of the Challenger explosion, and of any and all space related memories.
You can share them by posting them on our Facebook page under this story, but another great way is to pull out your phone and interview someone about their stories, or have someone interview you. If we get enough of them, we will build a dedicated Shared Stories section on our website for audio and video stories of space, and, as it expands, history in general.
You can send these stories to ourtupelo@gmail.com.
