Good Saturday Morning friends and family, and all y’all I’ve not yet met. Looking forward to a beautiful (if a bit too warm) day? Needing something to do? I’ll hook you up!

It’s Saturday, October 6th, 2018. Its the 279th day of the year, and there are 86 days left. Monday is Columbus day, so many of our area schools are out of session. It’s just 25 days till Halloween.

Our Food Trucks are in several different places today so I’ll just include them in the events that they are attending.

To Do With the Kids This Morning

Oren Dunn City Museum has a great music feature exhibit, Lee County Originals. Go next door to the Skate Park as well.
Barnes & Noble (Tupelo, MS) has Storytime “Builder Brothers: Big Plans” today at 11:00
They will also have a Hatchibabies Launch Event today to show off the newest toy in the Hatchables line. 2:00-4:00
It is also Educator Appreciation Days where Pre-K – grade 12 educators get 25% off most books, toys, games, movies, music, and more. Just ask a bookseller for details.

Can your home be a Forever Home for a pet in need? Tupelo-Lee Humane Society is having a Flash Adoption event 10:00-5:00. Intake of animals has been high this month, and their resources have been stretched thin. Come help them by taking a fur baby home.

Today at Noon, Faith Church is hosting “Bully Free Starts with Me” a workshop that is open to the public and will provide information, insights, a question and answer session, as well as tips on advocacy. The Evergreen-Carolina Volunteer Fire Department is having its Fall Fish Fry at the Evergreen Community Center on October 6th,2018 starting at 3:30 until 7:00 P.M. Location is about 8 miles south of Mooreville on Hwy 371. Plates are $9.00 ea. All proceeds go to support the Fire Department. Come out and eat some good fish and talk to friends. All donations welcome. Please come out and eat with us. Everything will be very much appreciated.
PFLAG Tupelo and the Link Centre, along with SPECTRUM Toyota present the first every Tupelo Pride Event, a celebration of the LBGTQ community in Tupelo and surrounding communities in northeast Mississippi. Speakers will include representatives from the HRC and the ACLU of Mississippi as well as other organizations. Performers will include Godiva’s Eleganza Extravaganza. Happening at Fairpark, this family friendly and open, welcoming event begins at 2:00 and runs through 5:00. Gypsy Roadside Mobile will be there so here’s a great chance to try them out if you haven’t already.

Down in Aberdeen you can enjoy Non-stop blues music on the banks of the Tenn-Tom Waterway ath the Bukka White Blues Festival. With Ribs on the River BBQ Contest, Kids Activities, Animal Show, Kayak Rentals, Great Food & NEW this year Gator Bait Kayak Race. Local favorite food truck Jo’s Cafe will be there, as well tons of other great vendors and music events. All day today.

Live Music

It’s opening night at Prime Time Bar & Grill on McCullough Blvd. Live DJs, and Ladies get in free before 11:00. Opens at 8:00
Its Steak & Blues Night at King Chicken Fillin’ Station with songwriter Brian Harrison and Chef Mitch. Out on the back deck, enjoy a ribeye, salad, and potato while listening to some good Local Music.
