Weather Outlook

WTVA – The Weather Authority keeps us informed as we take a look at their forecast for the day:

Heat and humidity cranks up in the coming days MORE HEAT AND HUMIDITY More widespread rain and storms beginning to gradually increase as we near the pre-dawn hours on Sunday morning. Widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected to approach or enter the area by the end of Sunday morning.

SUNDAY STORMS Today, scattered storms are expected to build across into northeast Mississippi and northwest Alabama. Some of those storms on could be strong to severe. At this point, we remain under a Level 1 risk of severe storms for Sunday. Thus, the threat for severe weather remains very limited. The main threats will be strong potentially damaging wind gusts along with some hail. An isolated tornado is unlikely, but cannot be entirely ruled out. The greatest potential for storms will develop by early afternoon and continue through mid-evening on Sunday. Despite the storm potential steady southeasterly to southwesterly breeze coupled with peaks of sunshine will allow temperatures to return to the upper-70s and lower-80s.
