The Rundown July 4th

Happy Independence Day! welcome to The Rundown, sponsored by Sprout Insurance

Let’s look at the weather, from the experts at WTVA – The Weather Authority

Independence Day brings more heat and humidity along with isolated thunderstorms

We begin our Fourth of July with mostly clear skies and temperatures in the lower to mid-70s. Throughout the morning, sunshine will heat temperatures rather quickly. We will likely see highs reach into the lower 90s with heat index values in the upper 90s to lower 100s.A few spotty showers and storms are possible as we head into the afternoon. But perhaps they will not be as widespread as what we saw yesterday. Either way, it would be wise to have your WTVA Severe Weather Authority app available with notifications enabled so you can receive a notification if a storm develops near your area. This would allow you plenty of time to get to the boat ramp or seek shelter wherever you may be enjoying the holiday.

Tonight: A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
