Kidney Head is a local non-profit organization created by a young man in memory of his father. Bryson Burks has been raising money to help other families with kidney illnesses. He is currently selling t-shirts to raise money for those he helps. Short sleeve shirts are $25.00 and the blue long sleeve is $35.00. All proceeds go toward Kidney Head. They are willing to meet people anywhere to deliver the shirts for cash only. You can donate online and contact them for delivery. You can also donate and find more information by going to www.createfoundation.com and look for special project, “Kidney Head” or find Kidney Head on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or SnapChat . We always support little people doing big things.

On This Day

National Esgargot Day! Escargot is a snail prepared for use as food. They are usually served as a starter in Portugal, Spain, and France, and are typically a dish in the Catalan region of Spain.

National Don’t Fry Day! The National Council for Skin Cancer Prevention declared this day, due to it being before Memorial Day, to encourage sun safety awareness (and to think I thought it was talking about frying chicken) and to remind everyone to protect their skin while enjoying outdoors.

National Scavenger Hunt Day! Scavenger Hunt is a game, typically played in an extensive outdoor area, in which participants have to collect a number of miscellaneous objects or notes to get to the final prize!

Word of the Day: Coterie is an exclusive circle of people with a common purpose.

Quote of the Day: I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can’t see from the center. -Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
