Weather Outlook
Here’s a look at the WTVA – The Weather Authority forecast for the day:
HOLIDAY WEEKEND HEAT WAVE Rain chances are eliminated for the weekend as high pressure strengthens across the Deep South. Temperatures in the morning on both Saturday and Sunday will be in the lower and mid-70s. But by the afternoon on both days, sunshine will warm us into the mid and almost upper 90s. No rain is anticipated over the weekend. And this forecast repeats itself for Memorial Day.

On This Day
National Missing Children’s Day! In 1983, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed this day. In 1979, Etan Patz was only six years old when he disappeared from his New York City home on his way from bus to school. Thus, being the day of dedication for this day. It is a day to encourage parents, guardians, caregivers, and others in charge of the safety and well-being of children, to make child safety a priority. It also serves as a reminder of those missing and to honor them and make a effort in reuniting with family.
National Tap Dance Day! Carol Vaughn, Nicola Daval, and Linda Christensen deemed this as it is the birthday of Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, a significant contributor of tap dance.
National Tap Dance Day! Today, we celebrate the many uses of the brown paper bag.
Geek Pride Day! Today is an initiative to promote geek culture. This initiative originated in Spain in 2006 and has since spread around the world.
Word of the Day: Ailurophobia is the intense fear of or aversion of cats.
Quote of the Day: I must be cruel, only to be kind: Thus bad begins, and worse remains behind. -William Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act 3 Scene 4
