The Rundown April 3rd

0
Good Wednesday Morning, and welcome to the Rundown! Today is Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019 and it is the 93rd day of the year. There are 272 days left in this year. Summer arrives in 79 days and Easter is in 18 days.

Weather Outlook

Enjoy the sunshine. Rain is in the forecast for late week. Here’s a look at the WTVA – The Weather Authority forecast for the day:
We begin our Wednesday with mostly clear skies and cold temperatures. Most areas will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s. But for those who manage to drop into the mid-30s, we could see some patchy frost development. It will thaw quickly after the sun rises.Throughout the day, the sun will shine across the region along with a south wind between 5 and 10 mph. This will promote a fast warm-up. Highs should climb into the lower and mid-70s across the north while those across the south reach the upper 70s in spots.
Clouds increase a bit into the night with temperatures slipping into the lower 50s. A few spotty showers begin moving eastward into the region sometime Thursday morning.

National Tweed Day! Tweed is a rough, woolen fabric, flexible texture, that is woven with different colors of thread. Tweeds are made for harsh climates. Definitely not the day for this material. Maybe in the morning, but not with all the beautiful sunshine!
National Chocolate Mousse Day! Mousse is made with beaten egg whites and whipped cream. Flavored with chocolate and chilled.
National Find a Rainbow Day! A rainbow is an arc that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets. The result is a spectrum of light appearance in the sky. More than likely, we will not see one today. We will have the sun, just not the droplets!
National Walking Day! On the first Wednesday in April, the American Heart Association begins its month long celebration. It is designed to help us all become more active. You are encouraged to lace up your sneakers and take 30 minutes out of your day to walk. Grab a friend, and let’s go walking Tupelo!
Childhelp National Day of Hope! The U. S. House of Representatives passed House Concurrent Resolution 76 with a unanimous vote, in 2000, supporting this day. This day is reserved to take time to say a prayer, and have a moment of silence, in remembrance of the children who die every day from abuse and neglect.
National Humor Month! This was founded in 1976 by comedian and best-selling author, Larry Wilde, director of the Carmel Institute of Humor. It is designed to strengthen knowledge of how joy and laughter have therapeutic value. Laughter has many health benefits, boosts morale, improves communication skills, and enrich the quality of life.
