The Rundown June 18th

Welcome to The Rundown , sponsored by Sprout Insurance.

First your weather, as told by the experts as WTVA – The Weather Authority.
SPOTTY SHOWERS AND STORMS TODAY & TOMORROW

We begin the day with a few scattered showers and storms, making for a messy commute for your Tuesday morning. Temperatures start in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Then through the day, a few more spotty showers and storms are likely. Otherwise, it will be partly sunny and very warm with humid conditions. Highs reach the lower and mid-80s with some in the upper 80s. Additional spotty showers and storms are possible tomorrow as well with morning temperatures near 70. However, they won’t be quite as widespread. Therefore, we will likely see more sunshine and hotter temperatures. Look for partly sunny skies, isolated showers and storms and highs in the upper 80s to near 90. Heat index values may be near the lower to mid-90s.

HEAVY STORMS LIKELY INTO THURSDAYTemperatures will begin near 70 once again. But showers and storms appear to be more widespread, some of which could also come with strong, damaging wind. Temperatures will climb into the mid and upper 80s with heat index values into the lower 90s. This appears to be the wettest day of the workweek. So be sure you are prepared to deal with some rain on Thursday.

HEAT AND HUMIDITY BUILDS INTO THE WEEKEND

We gradually dry out as we head into your Friday and the following weekend. A few more showers and storms are likely. And some are still possible into the weekend. But they will not be as widespread. Instead, heat and humidity will become more of a factor with sunshine and highs in the lower 90s. Heat index values will be in the mid-90s and perhaps upper 90s to near 100. This is a pattern that will carry over into the first of next week as well, perhaps with a few more showers and storms. Highs will still be in the lower 90s.
