National Go for Broke Day! Go for broke is an Hawaiian pidgin phrase of “to wager everything.” A World War 2 Motto in the Japanese-American military unit of the 442nd Infantry Regiment.

National Caramel Day! Caramel is a brown confectionery product made by heating a variety of sugars. Caramel is one of my favorite cakes and ice cream topping. It goes will with chocolate in candy and clusters. Go devour some caramel today.

National Read a Road Map Day! This day is set aside to encourage us to improve our map reading skills. Due to advanced technology, and the making of GPS and map applications, most people do not read maps anymore. This was a requirement for me in the 8th grade. I can read a map very well as long as I know the direction. Go grab a map and educate yourself. You never know when you will not have any service!

National Deep Dish Pizza Day! The deep dish pizza is a popular style pizza originating in Chicago. It is baked in a pan and gives the pizza its high edge and deep surface for large amounts of cheese and pizza sauce. This used to be my favorite style of pizza crust until I discovered thin & crispy. I like a variety. Stop by your favorite pizza spot and indulge on some pan pizza today!

National Inventor’s Month! This is a celebration of invention and creativity started in 1998. The United Inventors Association of the USA (UIA-USA), the Academy of Applied Science, and the Inventors’ Digest magazine created this. Do you have an idea or invention? This month is the month to have it patented or acknowledged. Do you know someone who has an idea? This month is the month to encourage them!
